Structure of the
Airway (Subglottic and Tracheal Stenosis)
Stenosis of the airway is often associated with intubation trauma (breathing tube during surgery) or following placement of a tracheostomy (breathing hole from the neck into the windpipe). Other causes include autoimmune diseases, tumors and sometimes no reason is found (idiopathic stenosis).
Dr. Weidenbecher has significant experience in airway reconstruction for adults, to correct tracheal or subglottic stenosis surgically, restoring natural breathing without the need for tracheotomy.
