Head and Neck Cancer
Smoking is a significant risk factor for many head and neck cancer which may occur in the mouth, throat, or voice box. Further, human papillomavirus (HPV) infections have been an increasing cause of cancer of the tonsils in younger patients in their forties and fifties and in non-smoking patients. There are many other types of head and neck cancers, such as spit gland tumors, that develop without any obvious risk factors.
